yesterday we went to the tibetan buddhist center here in el paso. we went in hopes of seeing/receiving a blessing from an 11th generation bhutanese monk, but he wasn't there for the prayer

I LOVE tibetan buddhism and def get into it. The intricacies of the world/ceremonies are a bit non-connective for me (that's why I usually practice zen) BUT it is so full of wisdom, you will shit your pants. With wisdom. lol

All the tibetan places here are very racially driven/viet/not welcoming to outsiders (this a prob w/ most things in Chicago) so I have only been to the ones in Japan. weeeellll

that sucks!!! the center here is so lacking in members and they are SO sweet and welcoming!! we're gonna start going weekly.
