After-Christmas Sales, the Extended Edition (and other odds and ends)

Dec 26, 2004 18:18

Since Christmas fell on a Saturday, the local stores are having some after-Christmas sales today and some tomorrow. Usually, all the stores start their after-Christmas sales bright and early at 6 a.m. and the mad rush for bargains is on. But because it fell on a Sunday, some of the stores apparently went, "Meh, Sunday. Too much trouble" and ( Read more... )

Oh, yes, you definitely have to let me know if it works. I'll like it if it does, but I suspect there's going to be some drawback: it will be more trouble than it's worth or messier to clean up than just shelling them by hand, or something. There usually is.

Exploding eggs. Hmm. No, I don't think I want to risk exploded hard boiled egg all over my kitchen.

Yeah, I read the directions last night, too. It's the required ice-water bath for a minimum of 10 minutes that did me in. If I just peel the things fairly hot, there's no real problem.

And you're right - I don't want to use an appliance that comes with a troubleshooting section on exploding eggs. ;)

I'm breaking down and going to ask for a g-mail invite. I had to look for three or four e-mails last week that I needed, but had ended up deleting. I was wishing I'd taken you up on that offer before.

*sigh* food chopper. One of the first things I am going to buy once I get my own place. I can't chop an onion without crying so hard I can't see what I am doing anymore.

hp_crimbo has a ton of fantastic drabbles. I read through the whole thing in one day. Your stories were wonderful.

Yay for Bowie marathons. And it's a weekend! I really need to get everybody else out of the living room and watch my newly acquired Bowie DVDs.

Has Gmail added more invites? I was down to three or something, and now I have six again and have no idea what to do with them.

Oh, yes, you have to celebrate - we'll make it a recognized holiday yet! ;)

Yep, they've issued more invites. They're determined to take over the world. ~grin~

The stores here were open bright and early at 7 AM on Sunday morning. My mom and I didn't get out until about 11 AM, however. The stores were hardly busy at all and we didn't have to wait on any lines. It was kind of weird. I mean we were on the busiest shopping mile in town. I have no idea where everyone was.

I love cutting vegetables by hand with a knife. I find it very relaxing to cut things such as onions into tiny teenie little pieces. But I know many a person who adores their food chopper.

Hmm, well, I don't know where everyone was, but it was good for y'all that they stayed away. ~grin~ More bargains just for you!

Really? I'm in the "adores the food chopper" category. I never manage to get everything diced to my satisfaction by hand. But the food chopper? Bssssttt. And that's it. LOL
