I know this. I've seen the way hip-hop/urban references make their way into mainstream vernacular. I mean, when design shows on HGTV are talking about adding 'bling' to a room, you know the word's jumped the shark.

Oh god. Journalism, journalism. There is so many things wrong with the way this field goes about its business.

People will say such dumb shit to a journalist when they're being interviewed in the hopes of being colourful and interesting and personable. And journalists, out of the vain hope to scrap together something mildly interesting to the theoretical reader inevitably chooses all the dumbest stuff.

Seriously, that was like all four years of my undergrad degree. Why.

XD As retarded as it is, I'd still rather read something like this than your typically drab financial news. *flashes back to college and current events and argh, WHY THE HELL DID I GET A BUSINESS DEGREE??*

but yeah, it does make one wonder what all the stuffy wallstreet suits are making of this. XD

I think the subject in general has just been on my mind lately. Between Michael Steele's nonsense and that commercial for that design show where the woman did actually say she wanted bling in the room...yeah. XDDD
