Beautiful blossoms & bees!

Feb 17, 2008 22:33

I was going to write about my very BUSY but UNIQUE weekend, which included being the subject of a cool psychological experiment at Stanford University and getting PAID for it, and also seeing the long-awaited new Cirque du Soleil show, Kooza, but I seem to have run out of time tonight. What else is new? *chuckle* And since tomorrow's a work day, I' ( Read more... )

Thank you! :) I don't usually "re-run" photos, but I liked those so much that I just had to. *blush ( ... )

I'll take "carpenter bees" for $1000, Alex.

You give me so much consolation to show the bee and the flowers. We only have ice and snow and the road are so icy so I hardly can walk to work. It make me so sad that I cannot be out and enjoy the winter birds.

Thank you for showing this

You are very welcome! :) I actually was thinking of you when I posted these photos, because I remember how anxious you get this time of year in Sweden, waiting for winter to go away and spring to come. *hugs* I also like to share my flower and tree photos with you, because you share so many nice ones in your own journal. I especially love when you photograph flowers with "rain pearls". :) Here is a another of my flower photos to make you feel cheerful -- a tropical hibiscus!

That flower icon to me is beautiful.

I feel so sad I still cannot walk. There is so hard ice on one road that goes down hill and I HAVE TO walk, and my spike shoes do not work on this. I have to go home with 2 buses now because no bus goes direct.

I have so good condition so I can normally walk very long. In summer my walk to work is 20 minutes but if I cannot pass the extreme icy street, I cannot walk this.

Please think of my. I have no egergy to write in my journal this week. But you can enjoy my pictures in 2 postings I did on Sunday Februare 24.

*blush* Thank you for the compliments. :) And yes, I guess I live in a fairly warm clime, being in San Jose. It's not nearly as warm as much of Southern California is, but that's OK with me. It's a little TOO warm down there! My southern neighbors don't have enough seasonal distinction between the seasons, but here in Northern Calif we do. Then again, we probably DON'T seem that way to folks in snowy, cold-winter states like Illinois, New York, Michigan or Vermont, for example. ;D

Lovely shots!

How was Kooza? I had a ticket to see it in St. Paul last year, then they canceled the tour.

It makes me very happy when a fellow photographer says that I take lovely shots. *blush* Thank you! :) I always love looking at your photography, especially since you have the camera lenses to take great zooms on wild squirrels! heh I generally have the most success with macros of flowers, since they don't move. Although the honeybee obviously moved, but my shutter speed was fast enough to keep her sharp ( ... )

They cancelled the tour to do more work on it or something. It was supposed to have opened here.

You'd be surprised to learn that most of the shots I take of outdoor squirrels are done with either a 50mm or 85mm lens. The squirrels are usually pretty close to me when I photograph them.

That's a beautiful icon!

Wow! Those are lovely pictures and they certainly do make me long for spring. I especially love the almond blossom. I love clean white flowers like that. They are stunning.

By the way, I wanted to thank you for brightening my day over the weekend with the hot Captain Jack Valentine you sent! ;) That was an awesome surprise and our Jack certainly looks fetching in that picture! *giggles* Thanks for thinking of me.

*giggle* I knew that li'l Valentine would come as a surprise! I love surprising people like that! Unfortunately I didn't have any holiday-appropriate CONFETTI, otherwise I'd have snuck that in as well. :D Yes, the good Captain looks mighty fine in that Valentine -- but don't worry, I have extras for myself! heh

I'm glad you liked my almond blossom photo. Thanks! :) I have a larger version of it that I can email you when I get home, since you said you appreciate clean white flowers like that. The bee is more clear in the larger version as well. That whole tree was SOOO beautiful in bloom!
