Hi! In my adolescent years, I went an entire year without having my period. Of course several people had said that it was because of my weight. Then there were a couple of times that I didn't have my period for six months, two months, and then three months. Last year, I started taking a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement called Women's One-a-Day and my menstrual cycle went back to normal. I did have heavy periods because of what I ate. If I drank orange juice or anything that was highly acidic, my periods will be heavy which is one of the reasons why I cannot drink any fruit juices that are highly acidic during my cycle ( ... )

Well they "said" they were checking oestrogen levels and hormones but to be honest I think they are probably just throwing it in the bin since I can't believe there isn't something up in the area - I mean it's near impossible that my hormones wont show some error if i've been without a mentral cycle for 5 years lol

When I see my doctor [new female doctor cause the guys know nothing ^_^] im going o insist on some form of scan if only to rule out anything in that area.

I wonder if you don't have a point there about the orange juice though! since I had been drinking a very large amount due to having flu near the beginning and wanting to keep my body flooded with vitamin c. I will have to remember that should I have another period next month *is praying that doesn't happen*

I hope your ok too hun ^_^ how have you been anyway? since i've not spoken to you in yonks!

I have been doing alright. The economy in America is taking a fast nosedive straight to hell and people are weary and taking precautions. I told my supervisor that the 2008 Presidential Election will get nasty and it is. Anyhow, I kind of figured that the doctors you were seeing were men. Honestly I prefer to see a female doctor because I feel that only women understand reproductive health among females compared to men. Sometimes I wonder why men study gynecology?!!

Orange juice, as good as it is, wrecks havoc on my period due to the high acidity levels. At times when I do drink large amounts during my cycle, I get painful cramps and heavy bleeding. Cramping is quite painful that I feel like I am giving birth because I have to do those breathing exercises that pregnant women do to alleviate the pain.

Take care as always!
