It's a little dark, despite my attempts at adjusting it. And they're obnoxious birds, but no one can deny how handsome they are.

Really? I love these guys and the scrub jays too. Much better behaved than their eastern cousins.

The fact that this year's crop of young crows have decided that my roof is teh awesome? Obnoxious.

There's an enormous tree in my neighbor's yard--the one visible in the left portion of the photograph--where these birds return every year. They make a helluva racket, which is what makes them obnoxious to me. That said, I think they're gorgeous and love seeing them. On at least one occasion I clearly remember, I heard knocking on my living room window. When I went upstairs to see what was going on, I discovered one of them there, pecking at the window. I suspect it was pecking at its reflection. They occasionally land on my balcony railing, but I'm never quick enough with the camera to capture them. This fellow was sitting on my neighbor's back staircase.
