Pleasant evenings

I had some very pleasant evenings this week.

Wednesday evening, I got together with e_bourne for dinner and a movie. Our evening was centered around Pacific Place (a multilevel mall in downtown Seattle). We ate at Thai Ginger, really one of the finest Thai restaurants in town, and had good girl gab. I love my brainy, artistic peoples. Then we went to see

Re the Codex: I have a 24-drawer CD bureau for my socks, hair thingies, bras, CPAP filters, nail clippers etc. etc. It’s organized, reachable while sitting on the bed, and hugs the wall. Poifect.

Trying to do more ourselves in the way of simple low-key evenings w/ friends. Too easy to just be self-contained molecule & only socialize at cons.

The CD bureau sounds like a great solution. I really need to come up with ways to better manage my bedroom space. I thought my beautiful, antique, bow front dresser was the answer, only to discover that the drawers are too shallow to be useful for much besides underwear, socks and pajamas. It's an issue I still haven't resolved. And yet, I have a jewelry cabinet that is nearly perfect. My priorities probably need to be examined. ::sigh::

As for being a self-contained molecule, telecommuting as I do makes me much more assertive for company. I mean, I love my cats, but the conversation isn't very fulfilling, you know? :-) So evenings with friends are really important at this point. I'm currently preparing for work to start heating up this week and also to receive a big freelance job, which means I'm going to be pretty cloistered for a while. I'm fitting in the socializing while I still have time.
