Reading the signs

Signs indicate I'm stressed out. What signs? I've been clumsy the last two days. Yesterday started with me pouring orange juice instead of milk into my bowl of cereal. I know it's an odd place to find it and it may not be useful to you, but there's a really good hand guy on the east side at Lakeshore clinic - he's really good. I had a break in my hand that often causes some serious inability - and he was able to set it so that I lost no mobility at all (and I can't remember his name, but I'll look it up if you'd like ;>).

Orange juice is not good for electronic stuff. It unglues the edges of the chips and lets the magic smoke out.

Magic smoke? So that's what I saw rising from the keyboard. Day-amn! :-)

After several hours of eccentric behavior and some troubleshooting (thank goodness I had my work machine here to visit the Apple site), the computer appears to be behaving normally again. I'm going to be watching it carefully for the next few days, though, just in case. And wow, oh wow, do I need to do a back-up.
