Jack and I have plans to go to the movies later. Oh good - I was afraid Jack would miss out on a "Jewish Christmas" (there *will* be Chinese Takeout, right?)

Sounds like a perfectly delightful way to spend an evening!

Do you know Matt Ruff? His wife works for the same bookstore I do!

Well I know it! That's why I was so excited when you got that job. I knew the bookstore through her and I knew it would be an incredibly cool place for you to work.

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the evening. And shearling slippers! Always a win. Have a terrific day.

That all sounds wonderful!

And I buy that bacon/choc bar for myself a lot. Though my fave in the Vosges line is the Barcelona: milk chocolate, sea salt, and crushed almonds ….

I'd never seen it before, and it fed directly into a running joke we have. Jack talks about bacon being the candy of meats. When I saw that bar, I couldn't resist. I still haven't tasted it myself, but I'm wildly curious.

Hooray for tea and warmth!

I just finished listening to an interesting NPR show about Christmas and it's history, and there was also a segment about Hanukkah. I thought you might be interested:
