I, too, hate the fucking caucus. I get to take my kids along to it as well, which is Even More Special.

I have to have an unpleasant discussion with a PM today about how she really needs to let me DO MY FUCKING JOB.

I didn't set my alarm for early enough, so my kids are missing the bus and I have to take them to school. I now no longer have the time I'd planned on to get ready and still get them there on time.

My tummy hurts.

Bah.

I sincerely hope that you get the story in on time. I also, of course that your friend is OK. I too have a smelly litterbox (it's actually the cats', not mine) and I am tired of being cold. War indeed sucks and there's no longer any reason for us to be in Iraq: the Iraqis can handle it now. Washington's primary/caucus system is freakin' joke imo. I don't consider participation a privilege, but a right. Perhaps the Feds should dictate the parties' candidate selection system and make it uniform across the states. The founding Fathers did pretty well setting up a government but were awfully naive when it came to political parties? Hellooo-Great Britain had political parties, and there were obvious divisions when the Constitution was drafted so how could the U.S. not develop them!? I'm also damned tired of struggling to get up in the morning-why am I so exhausted?

Of course, participation is a right. But given the percentage of people in this world who actually get to participate in their governments, those who have the right to self-govern are indeed privileged. At least, from my perspective.

One of the two K-cup coffee makers in this building is randomly not doing a full cycle. Did I mention that they're at opposite ends of a block-long building?

Wednesday we had torrential rain. Today we have snow. I don't even know if it's still falling, because I don't have an outside-facing window.

I miscounted, and therefore realized just this morning that I need to get my prescriptions refilled today.

You've done an unintentional kindness. I forgot to have my prescriptions refilled and you've just reminded me. Thanks!

my freecycle pickup appears to have stood me up. I am cranky about that, as I was really hoping to get this damn file cabinet OUT.

Also, Godiva keeps sending me Valetine's Day sales e-messages. I don't even like Godiva.

My understanding of the caucuses is that when you go in, you sign in under a candidate if you've chosen, and then if you leave early, your vote will still be counted.

That might help a bit...

I did the caucus training thing, and you're correct. It's permissible to enter between 1 pm and 1:30, sign the sheet with a preference, and bail. Crowds permitting, of course.

The parties want you to stick around through the whole event, but it's not required.

Caution: although the above is true for Democrats, I don't know whether it applies to Republicans.
