Five Things for a PTO Friday

1) This morning, dsmoen posted a link to the Travelers' Century Club, the only qualification for which is that one has visited 100 countries. Oh dear. I'm only at 18 13 (I miscounted somewhere along the way), not counting my own country. I have a lot of work to do. I was an early adopter of the VCR (having worked with similar beasts in cable television, I was familiar with their abilities) and when DVRs came out I jumped at the chance and never looked back. Another Seattle friend (the officiant at our ceremony, BTW) said it would change our lives, and it did. Except for news and sports, everything we watch on TV is recorded and watched when we wish to watch it. I understand that budgets don't always allow for this -- we've given up some other digital goodies for our DVR -- but I heartily recommend it, especially for those later-night shows.

Hmm, if each part of the UK counts separately, then that's a good start.

What about this: I've been to East Germany, West Germany and [plain] Germany. How many is that? Plus Iceland, Canada, Mexico, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Luxembourg, China.

But I think it'll be a while before the list gets any longer.
