Foolscap/Potlatch Weekend

Jan 31, 2013 09:21

At long last, just in time for the conventions, Foolscap and Potlatch have posted their schedules so I know what panels I'm on and what panels I want to attend. If you want to know where to find me (assuming I'm not dragged off to the bar, or for a meal, or for shopping), this is it.

Programming I'm on (both Foolscap panels):

You are going to be on a panel with Nancy Pearl?

Yep! A brush with fame! :-) I love it that she's local. I was so excited when Foolscap announced that Nancy was going to be the Guest of Honor. I've met her once before, when she interviewed Jo Walton (papersky) at the University Bookstore, and she was just delightful. I'm quite looking forward to seeing her again.

I must say, I envy the ease with which my PNW acquaintences can attend sf-community events like this!

Back in the 80s, the annual trip "up the line" to Halifax for Hal-Con was what I (thought at the time that I) lived for. The city I lived in at that time had only one bookstore, and when I was in highschool it went out of business.

All the Potlatch program will be in the same room - it should be divinely obvious once you're on the ground. I believe the room is Salon IV, but in any event, it's right next to the room where all the Foolscap program is held, so it won't be hard to find.

You should definitely touch base with Karen if you want to be on the Book of Honor panel. I don't know if she's got a full panel or not, but if you're really interested that's always a plus.
