EB, varina8, and I spent a perfectly lovely Saturday in Burien checking out the downtown area. We popped into Howard & Marge where I got a beautiful red sweater of exactly the sort I've been looking for, Fireweed Beads, a couple of bookstores, and 909 Restaurant for a delicious lunch. Had I been born into a more prosperous family, I might have asked for a new nose for my 16th birthday. (It might not have made a difference, since I broke the damn thing about a year after I arrived in Seattle.) I never don't see it. From the front it's shaped like a parenthesis (as a result of the aforementioned break); from the side it's . . . bent, kind of like me. :-) It's the one feature I'd love to "fix" if I had the time, the money, the patience, and the courage--because I've seen plenty of noses go wrong.

But y'know, other people don't see it like you do. Literally, we don't -see- it first thing! If we see it at all.

::blush:: I know. I can't not see it, mostly because it's not the nose I was born with, which was, at least, straighter than it is now. Who knows? Maybe at some point I'll straighten it just to shut up my inner voice. The rational part of my brains knows that people don't see what I see. The other part? Well, it sees far too much and too close.
