Make me feel better LJ Land!

Today I discovered I have done something incredibly stupid. Possibly the stupidest thing I have ever done. I'm actually too embarrassed to admit it just yet but can anyone offer a prime example of their own stupidity to cheer me up? if it's as bad or worse I'll admit mine ( Read more... )

It does indeed suck. Cheers for the well done though. I like your thinking - think positive! I did cheer up quite a bit yesterday when I decided not being able to drive is a good excuse to be drunk more often ;) x

crikey! im sure you'll pass again 1st time! i've done many stupid things but possibly the worst one is when i thought the machine had broken down when i found out there was money in a christmas pudding! i was only 16 at the time and my then boyfriends parents must have thought i was a right idiot. Good luck with it x

Thanks - I hope so! It's more the delay of waiting for another test than anything else that's the problem if I don't. I suppose I'm fortunate in that I don't need to use my car much anyway at the minute. So long as I'm fine again by June when I should be working full-time the inconvenience is not disastrous. x

BTW, do you know whether Sarah works in the east team or the south? An ex-colleague fom my last placement with the learning disablity team told me there may be a job vacancy coming up in East team and I wondered whether Sarah knew anything about it if she is in East. x

Ouch, I have done far too many very, very stupid things in life not too feel much sympathy for you.

I can't believe that you can't escalate your lie and talk to someone more senior...

Thanks Tom. It is nice to feel supported by friends in my hour of idiocy.

You would think wouldn't you. Their view is it's definitely my fault regardless of whether they or Royal Mail lost it since I didn't send it recorded delivery and I've had a whole 2 years to sort it out. Harsh but I sort of see their point. The mega frustrating thing is they do have a record that I passed my test on their computer system so they know I can drive. Stupid burreaucracy!

i might sound stupid but what is a provisional licence? i have a licence but i have no clue o.O

Thanks :) I'm a little worried about all the bd habits I've slipped into after two years but I will just have to pay for a few driving lessons to sort that out. A provisional license is the one you have when you're learning to drive. I'm very glad I don't have to do four tests - that would be a nightmare! x
