“See, Daddy? I found Mommy! I knew we would find her here!” Yuki excitedly chattered.

Everybody silenced for awhile until a loud laugh escaped from Ueda’s lips. There, Yuki was holding none other than Kazuya Kamenashi’s wrist!

“Tat-chan, it’s not funny!” Kazuya whined as he tried to loosen the kid’s grip on him. Yuki noticed this and looked at Kazuya with his huge brown eyes. “Why do you want to let go, Mommy? Are you going to leave me and Daddy again?” He pouted.

Kazuya stared at the little kid. “Look, I don’t even know you and don’t call me Mommy! I’m not even a girl for heaven’s-“ He suddenly stopped ‘cause Yuki started crying, getting the attention of not only the 3 adults but the passersby as well. It’s a good thing that it’s still early so not many people are still around.

Kazuya was saddened by this situation and doesn’t know what to do. Until of course the father of the kid suddenly joined in and cooed the younger one.

“There, there. Don’t cry now.” Jin kneeled down and hugged his kid who still cried even louder than before.

Kazuya blinked. “Akanishi?!” Jin just smiled up at him and continued to make the boy stop crying. Once Yuki’s cries turned into soft sobs, Jin stood up but with Yuki still holding on to his waist. “Good morning, Kame…nashi. I’m sorry Yuki here bothered you.” Jin apologized.

“Eh? N-No, it’s no problem. I was just shocked, that’s all.” Kazuya said as he stared wide-eyed at the young kid who continues to cry.

I never thought he already had a son. Has it been THAT long already?

Jin turned to smile at his son and kneeled down again. “Listen Yuki, Kamenashi here isn’t your real mother. She already left us, okay? Do you understand?” He asked Yuki. The latter just rubbed his eyes and shook his head madly, not accepting the truth.

“No! She’s really Mommy! Mommy looks like her! She even smells like her! She’s my Mommy!” Yuki continued to cry.

Sigh.

Kazuya and Ueda stood there worrying for the little kid.

“Hey, I’m never really good at taking care of kids. Think of something, Kame-chan.” Ueda whispered to Kazuya.

Kazuya looked at him and said, “Eh? What can I do? That kid thinks I’m his mother. I know I’ve been looked up as a girl before and I got used to it, but a mother?!” he seethed. Ueda just sighed at this.

“Come on; let’s just go home, Yuki.” Jin sighed as he tried to take Yuki’s hand so they could already go home.

The reason Kazuya was mistaken for a girl was that, well, he really did look like one! With his brown hair tied up into a ponytail and with the way he smiles and walks and talks, it wasn’t really much of Yuki’s fault actually.

“NO. I’m not going home until Mommy comes with us!” Yuki wailed. Kazuya was still shocked on what he’s seeing right now.

Jin-he admits-that he’s not really used to Yuki being like this. The Yuki he knows was someone who’s obedient and playful and may have his times when he’s crying but those were times that Jin can make Yuki happy again. This situation was something he wasn’t prepared for. Nobody wanted Yuki’s mother to die, it’s just that the woman was already suffering her disease for more than 6 months and suddenly died while Yuki was at school.

Now, Jin thinks, is a different situation and time. He never thought that, of all people, of all the women in the world, Kazuya would be the one chosen by Yuki to be his mother. Jin thinks it was really embarrassing on the side of Kazuya. Heck who wants to be dragged around the park by a little kid who calls the other Mommy? Jin could just imagine the look on the people’s face when Yuki and Kazuya passed by them.

The 3 men were really at lost on what to do now. None of what they’re trying seems to work.

Ueda tried of course. “Here, Yuki-kun, do you wanna play with Ran-chan?” He smiled as he let the dog bark happily and walk to Yuki’s direction. The latter just made a pouty face and sniffed again with more tears threatening to come out of his eyes. Ueda frowned at this.

“Uh…Um…Yuki-kun, how about some ice cream? We’ll get you your favorite flavor. It’s chocolate, right?” Jin said as he knelt down again and tried this way. Still, the little kid shook his head madly and looked at the direction of Kazuya, or his thought-to-be mother.

With the way Yuki was looking at Kazuya, it made the latter feel guilty. Although that was kind of weird to him knowing that he didn’t do anything wrong.

“What do you want just to make you stop crying?” Jin asked worriedly since his son was already hiccupping and coughing and Jin knew that never in his kid’s life has he cried like this.

“Um…I’ll just fetch Yuki some water, okay?” Kazuya tried to get but by the time he was going to go to a near convenience store, he felt a strong tug at his waist as little hands hugged him. He sighed knowing who the owner was.

“No! You’re really going to leave us, aren’t you Mommy? Don’t you love us, Mommy?” Yuki asked as he looked up at Kazuya. The latter was still at loss on what to do until he decided that maybe, just maybe, he could play along for the little kid…for awhile.

Kazuya smiled and kneeled before the little boy who thankfully stopped his sobs but the tears were still there. “I was just going to get you some water because you might already be dehydrated with all the crying that you’re doing.” He wiped the tears that have been covering the child’s face since awhile ago.

“Oh, really? Then, can I go with you? Please?” Yuki pleaded with his big eyes. Kazuya stood up and nodded at him. Yuki smiled happily as he took his mother’s hand and went off.

Jin and Ueda just blinked at this situation.

“Is Kamenashi aware of what he’s doing or he’s just plain stupid?” Jin asked, still staring at the two who were off to the convenience store.

“I think, for now, that Kame-chan is the one stupid this time.” Ueda said as he stared with Jin.

After a few moments of staring, Ueda finally said smiling, “Why don’t we go with them and see what happens?” Jin nodded. “Yeah, I think it’s better that way than leaving my son with a stranger.” He laughed. “Hey! You’re mean to Kame-chan! And I thought you love-“ Ueda suddenly stopped at what he’s gonna say.

Jin stared at him. “What’d you say?” He asked, fortunately not quite getting the last part of what Ueda said.

Ueda mentally thanked the gods and just shook his head. “Let’s go!” He said and they walked to catch up with Kazuya and Yuki.

-

“What ice cream flavor do you want, Mommy?” Yuki asked while at the convenience store. Normally they would just get some bottle of water but it seems that on the way there, Kazuya and Yuki enjoyed their time together by thinking of what other things to buy.

“Hm. I like vanilla.” Kazuya said as he got some bottles of water. “Ah, sou ka.” Yuki said, still clinging onto Kazuya’s hand and never once let go. “Then, why don’t we buy your favorite ice cream!” Yuki exclaimed.

Kazuya smiled at this and said, “I thought that you want to buy your favorite ice cream?”

Yuki shook his head. “I always get my favorite at home, it’s your turn now, Mommy!” He said. Kazuya ruffled the kid’s hair because of this. “Arigatou,” Kazuya said.

Ueda and Jin finally made it inside the convenience store and they had to leave Ran-chan outside because the guard wouldn’t allow them to. Instead, the guard promised that he’ll take care of the dog.

“Daddy! We’re going to buy Mommy’s favorite ice cream!” Yuki exclaimed and finally let go of Kazuya’s hand to go to his father. Ueda saw this and went to Kazuya to talk with him.

“Hey, Kazuya, do you know what you’re doing? Once you tolerate this, that kid would be so attached to you that he’ll never accept the fact that his real mother is really dead!” Ueda whispered to Kazuya. The latter looked at Ueda shocked.

“Yuki’s mother is really dead, now?” Kazuya asked and Ueda nodded.  “How?” He asked again.

“I think it’s best if you let Jin tell you what happened,” Kazuya nodded at this.

On the way there, Jin and Ueda talked about what happened to Yuki’s mother. He still left the part about them being in an arranged marriage, though. Jin decided that he’ll tell others about that, someday.

Kazuya sighed. “I really don’t know what to do, Tat-chan. When he was crying there, I really really felt sorry for him. I just don’t want him to feel what it’s like when you’re mother left you and even at his age, it’s horrible.” He said softly.

Ueda understood what that meant. Kazuya has undergone a really horrible past with his family and doesn’t want others to feel that way as well.

“But, what if Yuki takes you as his mother for real? You can’t be pretend to be his mother that long. What are you going to say to your family?” Ueda asked, worried for his friend. Kazuya shrugged.

“I’ll think about it,” Kazuya answered and went to get the ice creams.

-

“Mommy, let’s go home now. I’m tired,” Yuki said as he went to take Kazuya’s hand again.

Kazuya bit his lip not knowing what to say. He looked at Jin and Ueda mentally asking for help. Ueda stood there worried with Ran, while Jin just kept a straight face until a small smile crept on his face. Kazuya noticed this and his eyes narrowed at Jin who then came up and talked.

“Yeah, Ka-zu-chan, let’s go home now, my dear wife.” Jin said while grinning. Kazuya couldn’t believe what he’s hearing. Ueda was having the same shocked face.

Jin went closer to Kazuya and whispered in his ear, “Just play along and we’ll discuss these matters later at my house.” This made Kazuya gulp and nod slowly and unsurely.

“Right, Yuki-chan. Let’s go home, ne?” Kazuya smiled at the little kid who nodded happily.

“Let’s eat the ice cream together!” Yuki nodded. Kazuya looked at Ueda, still unsure of what to do.

“Um…Uh…Here Jin, take Ran-chan. She’s Kame-chan’s anyway.” Ueda said and gave the dog to Jin who smiled worriedly. “I’m going now, Kame-chan! I’ll see you later!” Ueda said to Kazuya.

“Eh? You’re not coming with us?” Kazuya blinked and Ueda shook his head. “Don’t worry; I’m going to be alright. I’ll call Ryo-chan and see if he wants to go out.” He smiled.

Kazuya nodded. “Okay, call me when you need anything okay?” He said. “Sure, do the same for me.” Ueda said and took his cell and went off.

“Bye Auntie Ue-chan!” Yuki waved and Ueda cringed at this as he looked back at the little kid annoyed, “Auntie? That kid clearly needs to know what’s the difference between a male and female.” He said and finally took off.

“Let’s go, Yuki-kun?” Kazuya suggested. “You lead the way,” He added and Yuki nodded happily.

In the background, you could see a poor Jin being dragged around the park because Ran-chan was having her time running around the park.

-

Wow! This house is amazing! It’s so big. Kazuya thought once they stopped inside the mansion.

“It’s been a long time since you came here, Mommy.” Yuki said as they went upstairs. The maids got the bottles of water and the ice cream and placed it in the kitchen.

Finally, Jin survived that dog attack and got home. The other maids and butlers took care of the dog by order of their master. Jin ruffled his hair and you could see how messy he really is.

He sighed and went to his son and Kazuya.

“Yuki,” Jin called and Yuki looked at him. “Yes, Daddy?” He asked.

“Why don’t you go up to your room so that I and your mother could talk things out?” Jin suggested. Yuki thought about this and considered it for a second until he nodded happily and looked up at Kazuya, “I’ll just be up in my room, Mommy. Let’s play together later, okay?” Kazuya nodded and watched as the little kid ran up the stairs.

Once they were alone, Jin guided Kazuya to his master bedroom and let the latter sit on his couch.

“Look, I’m just going to make things straight, Kamenashi.” Jin sighed as he ran his hand through his hair again.

“You know, I’m really confused on what’s happening here, Akanishi.” Kazuya said as he looked at him.

“I’ll explain to you everything. But for now, bottom line is…you’re going to pretend to be Yuki’s mother and-“ Jin started.

And?! Kazuya stared.

“…as my wife.”

EH?!
