[The camera shows books. Lots of books. Stacks of books. It's hard to tell if she's at the library or in her hotel room, but yeah. Books. And one tired, frustrated and exasperated pony.]

You know, it's wonderful that this place has so many libraries and bookstores. Really. It's great. But, I don't understand something... all these millions of ( Read more... )

I've heard of ways but... they aren't really the best way to do it.

Maybe you'd be better off researching Star Trek.

Star Trek? What's that?

It's a TV show. They do a lot of magic with transporters.

The problem is most of the people writing those books didn't think magic was real.

Yeah, I got that impression pretty quick, but I made the mistake of hoping I'd find something actually helpful.

Why would they even write these if they didn't even believe in it?

A mixture of reasons. Some of them want to record the beliefs of older times for posterity, a lot just want to make money by playing off people's interest in the subject or desperation, and some want to believe it's real.

Of course, if a book really did have that sort of knowledge, publishing it would render the knowledge useless anyway.

Maybe you should have just asked someone instead...

...Yes, well, everyone's seemed pretty busy, and I happen to like studying. I just didn't expect it to be a complete waste of time.

Well, it might not have been a waste of time if you asked ahead of time.

Of course, they probably would have told you not to bother.

So, asking them would have been basically a waste of time too?
