With my 3-months of writing at an end it is time for me to put taekwondo back on the to-do list. I did taekwondo off and on over the last three months, but for about the last month I didn't go at all.
One annoying thing is that I lost the bag that had most of my gear in it. So I'll have to replace the belt and the pads and several other things. And while I'm at it I might as well get a new chest protector and head protector.
I am looking forward to getting back into it, though.
As for rolling back the clock to 20 or 25, sadly that won't happen. Martial arts should help slow the decay of time, but only slow it. The next phase, as you can probably guess, is a burning desire to tell 20 and 25 year olds all the things you know now that you wish you had known then. Resist it! Resist! Don't be that guy!
But if they happen to ask, then you can go wild with the wisdom!
I've been following my standard plan of trying to do a little bit of everything every day. Doesn't always work, but I do manage to rotate through everything every week at least once
( ... )
The pain is because of the surgery. My inner quad wasted away quite dramatically and my outer quad/IT band overcompensated. That pulls my kneecap slightly out of joint. There may also be a little scar tissue inside the knee, not sure. But I have hope that if I keep working on it it'll stop hurting.
It doesn't hurt (much) WHEN I jump/lunge anymore. It aches the next day (quite dramatically, and inside). So... maybe one day.
