Actually someone does want you to be doing this, Brian. (But thats a another story, and it involves another guileless blond.)

Misa is oblivious. She doesn't know that she's being watched, and she doesn't know that friendly man she met some months ago in the main room is planning to kill her and chop her into pieces. Thanks to Light's recent injury, her movements have become even more predictable, every night she visits him. On second thought, she's completely oblivious to everything unless it involves Light.

So here she comes, a lamb walking to her slaughter without even knowing it.

The typist would to say, OM NOM NOM.

She screams again, body trembling from the pain. Why couldn't she get the serial killer that kills quickly?

This is horrible, horrible, horrible. And bad. Misa needs something to carry her through this, at least make the torture less painful. So after she catches her breath, she says only a name.

"Light."

Because you are very, very unfortunate, Misa. Brian likes to play with his food. It lasts longer that way. He can use the memories for weeks.

He smiles gently, and presses her knee down so the knife cuts neatly through both tendons. "Who's that?" He asks, conversationally, recognizing by the tone that it's a name. "Is that who you've been visiting? Every night... it's how I knew where to find you. Routine makes everything easier."

How does Brian us- never mind... >_>

Pain, pain, pain, oh the horrible pain. Tears leak down Misa's face and a small pained whimper can be heard.

Her voice is forced, struggling to even talk in between agony and sobs. "Yes... he's the boyfriend I talked about... remember?" She breathes.

"He got injured, and I wanted to take care of him." She says with no shame at all, she would die for him after all. She would gladly die saying his name over and over again in her head. Makes it easier. She's done it before.

Oh, it's just calling up the memories. Thinking of them to tide himself over. At the moment, though, he's just watching her face, listening to her talk. Trying to make him feel for her, humanizing herself. He smiles a little, and draws the knife away, pretending to listen to her. "Yes, I remember...you must be very devoted." He tilts his head. It's an eerie gesture, with his eyes like they are, right now, bright but deadly.

"Maybe I'll kill him after I finish with you."

The typist apologizes for her mind getting in the gutter. (It's not my fault Brian approaches killing almost like sex. I swear. >_<)

Misa flinches. Why do people like him have the ability to smile?

A look of pure panic crosses her face when he suggusts that.

"NO! He's already recovering from a stabbing in the back! You can do whatever you want to me, just please don't harm him!" Misa begs.

It's okay, the typist understands. He really does. Well, it's a physical experience...? And he listens to her beg, smile widening a little, and then lets it drop, giving her an apparently sympathetic look as he slides the blade of the knife up her leg without cutting the skin. Yet. "Mmm. You realize you're just making the thought more tempting? And there's really no reason for me not to."

He raises one hand. "Wounded, thus weakened, an easy target. Unguarded, I suppose?" He pauses, then reaches up and taps her nose. "Or...I could kill him first and you second. That might be more entertaining. Don't you think?"

Tears leak out her eyes again. She can't even scream anymore.

"No...no. By killing him, you'll take all my will to live. And it won't be fun for you anymore." Misa utters perhaps surprisingly, her voice is barely there. The pain is too much.

Her life means nothing next to Light's.

He presses the flat of the blade against her lips, abruptly, and smiles a little. "You do know a good answer when you give one. All right, then, that's a fine deal. Maybe I'll kill him after you're dead, maybe I won't. But I'll let you die first. Does that work for you?"

He moves around and sets the knife down, picks up a cleaver, turns it so the light reflects off the blade, and returns to where she's tied. "What do you think?" He murmurs.

Misa breathes. A 50/50 chance. It's better than nothing. Of course she doesn't know that Light is better protected than most. (Hey Pandora.)

She closes her eyes. Trying to prepare herself. One day you will cross someone that you shouldn't have, and put you the same hell. She then thinks about her legs... On second thought, I wish you worse.

"Fine."

Yeah, Brian couldn't probably get near Light at this point, thanks to that. Or if he did, he would be in trouble. Brian frowns, slightly, watching her face.

"Now," he says, "If you're going to waste your eyes I'll just carve them out. Keep that in mind." He takes her wrist, spreads out her fingers, measures the arc with his eyes, and brings down the cleaver in one smooth movement, severing her index finger.

He glances up at her, expression pleasantly relaxed. "What do you think about music, Miss Amane?"

Meta!Misa just breathed a sigh of relief. If she could, she would hug Pandora.

"I'm just thinking." She says in a weak voice. About how much you need to suffer for simply being what you are. Her sense of justice is strong, even without the Death Note. (Although not as strong as Lights.) She still opens her eyes.

Once her finger is severed, she temporarily goes into shock from the pain. She's lost quite a bit of blood, and isn't the most durable victim. She screams, but she can't quite hear her own voice or even Brian's question.

Some people in this typist's head snicker a little. Light says she shouldn't, she almost killed him first. He's still fairly upset about that.

Brian says her death has nothing to do with who she is and everything to do with the fact that she's an unobservant little twit who happens to be pretty. Then, he's like that.

Brian leans back, watching her face, and reaches to his table of tools, gets a glass of water, tips her head up and offers her a sip of the water, humming "Born Free" under his breath.

The typist would like to say, 'STFU, Pandora is protecting you, be grateful for that, or Mr. and/or Mrs. Psychopath would come creeping in your room to kill the shit out of you.' (Now that she mentions it, that would be hilarious/creepy/fetishy all at the same time.)

True. But a twit that doesn't deserve her death. Oh well. Brian is a total jerk-ass anyway.

Misa is still in shock so the water pours into her windpipe, choking her. She coughs back into consciousness, in her mind she bemoans it. She's still alive, goddamn it! >_<

Light is just a little bit bitter. And more than a little bit depressed. Don't mind him. And of course it would. He's still wincing from the last time, though.

Well, yes. He corrects 'sociopath' but honestly, also a jerk-ass. The two are not necessarily synonymous. Just mostly.

He pulls back, quickly, not wanting her to drown, just waiting for her to come back completely before offering it again. "Not extraordinarily resilient, are you?" he murmurs, almost absently. "Pity. For me. And you, most likely, but just the same."

Hey... isn't it December tomorrow? (Likes watching people getting killed, is a total sick puppy.) eyeofjustice November 30 2010, 15:14:06 UTC
Oh dammit, dammit, dammit! Misa was actually hoping to either die from the shock, or at least have her mind gone. Anything is better than facing this... thing while conscious. It's one thing that is worse than the torture.

"No... not at all." She refuses the water.
