It's been forever since I last touched this, but I've finally gone and completed Sho's 50 questions from Pia to ease myself back into translating after being sick for so long. The other half of Aiba's Cut article, the rest of the secret letters and new projects will hopefully follow soon too.

Q36. It has been said that Sakurai-san is terrible when it comes to artistic inclinations. What makes you think "but if it was this then I can draw it too!"?

Sakurai: Everything from A to C! I personally think I'm very artistic, so. I can draw anything, I'll draw them!
Q37. Which sentai [T/N: superhero rangers, typically] program did you watch often?
A) Bioman
B) Changeman
C) Sun Vulcan
D) Dynaman
Sakurai: I watched all of them except for Sun Vulcan. The one I liked most was Changeman, but I also used things like Bioman shampoo, and I owned Dynaman tapes too.
Q38. Which post would you pick if you were to join the cabinet?
A) Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare
B) Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
C) Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry

Sakurai: It's tough, but I think what's important is definitely education so B. The framework of our country is built upon education... aha, should I be talking about this kind of thing in "Pia"!? (laugh)
Q39. Which character do you feel an affinity for?
A) Snufkin, the aloof wanderer
B) Hopeless but kind-hearted Nobi Nobita
C) Kenshiro with his love and strength
D) Gachapin with his brimming curiosity
Sakurai: Gachapin does everything, doesn't he! It's more admiration than affinity, but D.
Q40. If you were to get a pet, what would it be?
A) Owl
B) Monkey
C) Raccoon
D) Alpaca
Sakurai: I don't want any of them as a pet... I just noticed this recently, but it seems I'm not really good with animals! (laugh) Though there are dogs at my parents' family homes, so it's not that I'm completely hopeless with them.
Q41. What is it do you seek from your lover?
A) A new image and excitement
B) Peace
C) A good sense of communication
D) I don't seek anything
Sakurai: Well, if I had to pick one then maybe B. But I don't really seek it to that extent.
Q42. Are you the type to keep bank savings?
A) I'm very shrewd.
B) In itself, yes.
C) I don't really do it much.
D) I don't keep money overnight!
Sakurai: In itself. I deposit money regularly, and try not to waste my money.
Q43. Besides Japanese and English, which language do you think it would be nice to be able to master?
A) Chinese

C) Spanish

Sakurai: That would be A. Simply because they have a large population and so the people who speak it must also be increasing. Spanish was the second foreign language I took in university and that was fun too.
Q44. There are new movies premiering soon. Which one do you want to see most?
A) Toad's Oil
B) Hagetaka
C) Terminator 4
D) Wrestler
Sakurai: Maybe A. It reminds me of what Nino said about Clint Eastwood's "Grand Torino". I'm curious as to what kind of work a person who is usually doing the acting might produce as a director.

A) Hojo Akira
B) Asami Chiaki

Sakurai: A. Hojo is the one who becomes a yakuza, right? Yup, definitely the main character. Or should I say, my memory of it is pretty faint by now (laugh). It's out of print now.

A) Half-assed kindness

C) Worshipping money
D) Emotional bursts of anger
Sakurai: (with a genuine look of dislike) D. I think bursts of angers are the worst out of those! More so than 'sinful', it's 'dislike'. I was torn between that and A, but the one I don't want to do is D.
Q47. How long do you use the computer on average in a day?
A) Less than 30 minutes
B) Less than an hour
C) 2~3 hours
D) More than that
Sakurai: I don't need to use the computer for work-related exchanges, so B. If you leave out letting music play.
Q48. What's your essential item when you go to sleep?
A) A teddy bear
B) Kaimaki [T/N: Futon in the shape of a kimono which you can wear to sleep]
C) Haramaki [T/N: Belly warmer, worn around the stomach for warmth]
D) A good mood
Sakurai: Hm, B. I fell asleep wrapped up in that last night too (laugh). But it's not that I won't be able to sleep soundly if I was staying at a hotel or anything. It's just that if I have that it feels like I've just come home.
Q49. If you were to express your current feelings in one word, what would it be?
A) Happiness
B) Anger
C) Sadness
D) Exhaustion
Sakurai: Aren't the last three awkward to pick!? I'm not exactly happy or anything, just the same as usual (laugh), but A is fine.
Q50. Which description is the closest to the type of person you aim to be?
A) A strong person
B) A gentle person
C) A warm person
D) A great person
Sakurai: I've been thinking about this lately, but I don't think it's a good thing to lose that mental composure whenever I get busy... since I really want to be able to maintain composure in any situation, it would be D.
Even in the hot seat, Sakurai Sho was invincible. Whether towards our ill-natured questions or nonsensical, reaction-prompting questions, he never flinched, answering each one seriously and showing us a "he's really thinking this out!" sense of consideration. For us to have slid off that steel wall of sincerity half the time, it seems that we have lost by default? When you look at this person, you too would think that humans are worth having faith in.
