honestly hon, based on everything you told me, it's not that you don't care for him or don't love him, but he's not good for you at this point in your life. you need to take care of yourself and you can't do that 100% if he's making it difficult or if you have to put so much of yourself into taking care of him. you know this deep down, and you just want the pain to stop so that's why you want to just get it all back together and have it be as it was right here and now
