1. Go to statcounter.com

2. Register with them (easy, really)

3. When you are logged in, click on the lil wrench to find the link that gives you the code to install.

4. Be sure to scroll down and select "html only", then click "get new code" button at the bottom.

5. Copy this code

6. Go to "update journal"

7. Give the entry a title if you like, then paste the code in the message window

8. Go to the bottom and select "backdate entry"

9. Give the entry a date ludicrously in the future so that it will stay at the top of your journal. (I went with 12/31/07, for example).

10. Hit post, and you're done!

Statcounter is awesome in terms of how they keep stats . . . tinker with the site, click on different things, and you can get an idea of who is visiting your page and from where. Keep in mind that (I suspect, but am not sure) that when people read your diary from the "friends" page of another diary, it may not count as a hit on yours everytime.

rather...leota was my grandfather's second wife, and also she's my dad's brother's mother-in-law.

i'm not sure how that relates her to me.
