We have the same comforter set! I love Santa Cruz and if I could, I would eventually move there.

Oh, wow. I love your space. It's beautiful! Your aesthetic is definitely very similar to mine! I have a feeling when I my boyfriend and I move in together it will be very similarly styled. Great job with your limitations. =)

My suggestion for the bathmat would be to get a bigger square or rectangle shaped mat.. one that would take up the space in front of the shower as well as by the sink, and you wouldn't have that weird overlap. It appears your bathroom is big enough that a larger mat wouldn't fill up the space. If you didn't want to do a large mat, you could do four or five (however many it took) lined up length-wise, parallel to the shower, with a bit of space in between each mat (kind of like the rungs of a ladder?), so it would be more visually interesting and not as block-like in the middle of your bathroom.

I googled "extra large bath mat" and a few options showed up. They were fairly pricey though, so you may have to look around a bit before you can find one in the right price point.

If you can do basic sewing -you can get several smaller ones and then sew them together.

Your kitchen and dining area are especially cute! Your kitty looks like a sweetheart. I love Santa Cruz but don't get there much anymore since my best friend moved here to SF.

they're definitely the most cohesive, hahaha. and ginny is most definitely a sweetheart. we found her on petfinder.com! there definitely is something to be said for adopted cats, they really appreciate their new homes and their owners a lot and give lots of love.
and oh sf. how i love thee. i hope to make sf my town someday. it's so damn expensive though.
