it is such a relief to have this room renovated. after 2 years of using it as a storage room and keeping the door closed all the time because it was so ugly, i finally have a guest room/dressing room that i'm proud of

west elm! i absolutely love it, the center section lifts up to reveal an enormous mirror and lots of space inside (currently full of my million bottles of nail polish).

It's so lovely and charming! That grass green is perfect :)

And the before pictures just make it comparatively amazing!

there should be a bunch of tutorials online on how to do it... it really just involved cutting the cord down to the right length, exposing the wires, and then connecting them to the right wires in the ceiling. but if i had done it i'd have accidentally burned the house down. :)

actually, that piece is a vanity, and the middle section lifts up to reveal a big mirror with storage space underneath. that's one of the reasons we hung the vogue covers so high, so i could raise the mirror up and not block the pix.
