given the recent posts about blik and sign vinyl decals, and the request for window treatments, i figured i'd post a photo from my last apartment. this is what my roommate came up with as a curtain alternative for one of our living room windows:

I should do something like this in my bedroom. I have the unfortunate fortune of having a window that, while higher than normal ground level windows it is where the stair well is so when I have my blinds up (to let in the light) people on the stairs can see DIRECTLY into my room which I kind of hate.

Where did you get the vinyl/plastic to do that, and what sort of material did you use?

Sign and banner shops usually carry a wide variety of vinyl for exterior and interior installation. If you ask, they can cut vinyl for you. As a CAD cutter comes in very handy. They can put it on application paper for you, so it'll work like a transfer. All that is needed is a ruler, masking tape, a squeeze bottle of soapy water and little squegee to apply it. Also many screen printing shops have begun using vinyl for signs, banners and even heat applied for garments. So you can check there too.
