Dear Yuletide Author,

Hi! I’m so delighted you’re doing this!

This is my first year participating in Yuletide, and I’m ridiculously super excited. This is going to be so very much fun.

When it comes to fic, I tend to love ensemble fic. I really love funny pieces. Now, if you want, you can look over a list of things I’ve written here, or fic I’ve recommended here. On the rec list, I have a lot of angsty stuff, and lots of shippy stuff, but really, my heart is in it for funny ensemble fic, like what I write.

I tend to prefer extracanonical stuff. I love "extra episodes" that are canon or canon-compliant AUs. Missing scenes are awesome too, as long as they are a full story.

Let’s talk about the fandoms I picked:

Happy Endings- I love this show. The dialogue snaps, the action moves, and the group of friends resembles my own. Keep the relationships canon, and focus on the gang getting involved in shenanigans. Bonus points for Chicago. If you go AU, but keep it in Chicago in a different era, I’ll just adore you.

Pitch Perfect- I deeply adored this movie. I see a lot of movies in a year, but this one stood out for its cheerfulness and joy. I don’t think it was the best, but it was my favorite, and it was the universe I most want to inhabit. I’m fine with canon relationships, though I am deeply disappointed the movie didn’t go there with Beca/Chloe, so if you wrote it so that they were canon, either currently, or at some point in the past, that’d be awesome. My only real request is not to include more than a line or two of song lyrics because that makes my eyes glaze over so very fast.

Cougar Town- Another excellent ensemble. I love all the characters, especially Ellie. Canon relationships are fine. Travis/Laurie: I’m into it, though it doesn’t need to be the focus, and probably shouldn’t. I’d love some group shenanigans. Maybe they are taking a road trip? Maybe they are raising funds for something? Maybe they are going to a wine tasting?

A note on AUs: I’m not always a fan because I think it can be really easy to get OOC on these, but, that said, there are three types of AUs I always want to read:

1920s flapper era- I have no idea why. It’s not a time period I read a lot about (my personal time periods are the Tudor era and the Revolutionary times, though not the war details specifically) but I love the speakeasies, the clothes, the booze. Happy Endings, with its episode about Dave’s speakeasy, would be delightful here.

1940s film noir- Again, not an era I study or films I watch, but I always love 1940s-ish film noir AU fic.

Spies- Always and forever. Sexy, flirty spies are my bag. Plot? Eh. Spies. Being hot spies and running around and wearing crazy clothes. That’s all I want in life.

That should be it! Thank you for taking time out of your life to write this for me. I hope you have as much fun writing it as I will have reading it.
