We have a new housemate. He has extremely chunky boots, a mighty beard, and a penchant for snuff! I forget how the latter entered into conversation, but I was intrigued. I'd seen such a thing in numerous Scarlet Pimpernel films, but hadn't witnessed such a thing in real life. Nathan cheerfully produced a tin of the stuff and demonstrated for me. ( Read more... ) -

While ambling out of one of the labs this afternoon (head in the clouds, as usual) I was oblivious to a (tiny) geologist (with kettle) descending from upstairs. Startled, when I almost crashed into her, I'm ashamed to confess, I think I actually screamed. Audibly.
