I've done a little soul-searching about where I personally draw the line for online privacy between sensible information control and ludicrous paranoia, and one of the results is that this journal has gone friends-only. One of the saddest parts of the proliferation of online journals in the public awareness has been the proliferation of the awareness of privacy concerns in the most prolific/interesting of online journal-ers.

While I am completely understanding of your attitude, I cannot help but feel it would be to the advantage of all were everyone to develope a 'nomme de guerre' and keep posting publically.

One of the utilities of the internet is the ability to develop completely separate persona. The key is keeping each persona totally separate and contained, with no information 'shared' between each identity.

I suppose it's indelicate of me to point out that there's a whiff of hypocrisy in the fact that you have commented without a nomme de keyboard.
