Well the sport was actually a martial art - karate. And I am scared of taking it up. The amount of energy required in the sport is something which I am not confident of conjuring up. I did try taekwondo for a few months in the US and it made me realize how old I have become

Actually the style of Karate I practised was the most orthodox school and hence we didnt have any "show-baazi" thing like breaking bricks. And the shout is actually not "Khia"..its more a call by the master to the students to give their best shot on the next move with full enthusiasm and the shout is supposed to come from the bottom of your stomach. six months in to it the teacher eloped With who did he elope :-) I think both Gujarat and Kerala are progressive in their own way and each one needs to learn stuff from the other. Thats the best thing about India..so many different ways to bring about social progress and all of them gain acceptability.
