Adventuring (Open)

Finding clothing ended up being a bit more of an experience than he would have expected. Spock's drawers and his half of the closet was easy enough to figure out, but some of the clothing was down right confusing. Robes and things that wrapped around, there was a green one in particular that kept attracting his eye but he couldn't figure out how to ( Read more... )

It wasn't until Ephram saw Commander Spock in the corridor that he realized how long it had been since the two had crossed paths. Also a bit of a shock was to see Spock wearing something other than his uniform. Ephram mentally shrugged. Maybe Spock had been inspired by the recent visit to the Vulcan colony; maybe he wanted to express that side of his heritage more.

As they grew closer in the hallway, Ephram nodded a greeting. "Hello, Commander."

If it hadn't been for the movie, Zach would not have even realized Ephram was greeting him. Instead he stopped, studying the unknown man who looked far younger than his white hair proclaimed. To be greeted like that, he must not have known about the switching. Zach chewed it over in his mind, should he just greet the man and keep talking? What if he wanted to talk? He couldn't fake being Spock for long or could he?, the demon on his shoulder whispered.

"Good morning," spoken in Spock's cool tone, and Zach started to walk by. Not that he entirely knew where he was going, but for right now he wanted to explore as much of the ship as he could, realizing at that moment that as First Officer he would technically have access to almost anywhere if not everywhere, and find himself something to write in if it was even possible.

That seemed a bit cool even for the Vulcan. Maybe Ephram should make more friendly overtures...

"Commander, if I may..." he added before Spock could get too far past. "That's a lovely--er, very aesthetically pleasing garment you have on. Is it traditional Vulcan clothing? I would love to learn more about the culture, if you're willing to share."

That didn't go as well as he had hoped. Zach swallowed, turning on a heel. How best to do this without losing any face for Spock? "Forgive me, I suppose you haven't heard what's happening on ship? I am... not Spock."

Jo wandered the corridors, at something of a loss. Science was locked to non-Science personnel, and her body was non-science personnel. She hoped they sorted things out soon, she wanted to get back to work. She spotted a familiar back end and smiled a little. Not Spock...what did his actor call himself? Oh, right. "Zach?"

Hearing his name, his real name, made Zach start. He turned around, and faced-- "Marsters?" He asked in shock.

"Well, that answers if most of us correspond to actors in your world. Joanna, actually. Well, Captain John Hart's body, but I'm Joanna." She held out her hand. She had a tendency to babble when nervous and figured she should quit while she was behind. "Pleasure."

"Ah, I'd rather not." The idea of touching Joanna's hand seemed disturbing, almost down right inappropriate, when he thought back on the feelings he could pick up from Nyota when he touched her. Like being inside of someone's mind. Not to mention the other sensations that came from touching something warm and soft and wonderful, now it was difficult to think of his hands and his penis as different things when they felt so similar.

Drawing his mind back to the present, Zach smiled. Was it his imagination that the muscles felt strained to do so? "It's nice to meet you, even if the circumstances are weird."

After getting his very own padd from Joanna and following her directions, Zach was pleased to see that the mess hall was not that far off from the lift. In fact, the moment he stepped off the lift he could smell it and just followed his nose ( ... )

Some people didn't transition very well into switching bodies. Some people panicked. Some people tripped. Some people ran into things and ended up spilling it all over the floor, or themselves, or other people - Sybok didn't care what it was or even very much about them, that was medical's job - but he did care about that it was staining the hallway he had just polished. The first cleaner didn't work, the second one didn't, before he finally talked to the scuttling ensigns in science and asked, "Do you kids have any concentrated base? No, not n-butyl li--yes, sodium hydroxide, thanks, about a litre ( ... )

Zach blinked once at the stranger, then nodded slightly. "I am." The bacon hovered in his other hand. "Forgive me, but you are...?" The slanted brows and pointed ears suggested this other person was a Vulcan, but he could see the emotions ripple across his face, in his eyes. Vulcans, as far as he knew, weren't supposed to let them show.

"Sybok." His eyes shifted to the piece of bacon held in this man's hand, something completely unfamiliar for Spock's body. "Spock's my brother--so I think I have enough authority to say he wouldn't appreciate that bacon. Neither will you."

After parting ways with Karl, Chris did some wandering on his own, not quite ready to go back and find out whether they'd been assigned new rooms yet. He found the library, peering in the door with interest, noticing a few shelves but many more computer consoles similar to the one he'd used earlier. He backed out after that quick look in, not in the mood to read. Turning to continue his walk, he spotted a familiar figure up ahead. "Zach!"

Zach turned when he heard Chris' voice, and smiled to see him. Someone familiar, actually familiar, instead of a stranger wearing a friend's face. "Chris," Zach said with relief heavy in his voice. He almost touched Chris' arm, then jerked his hand back, visibly swallowing. Curbing what came easily was difficult.

Chris felt just as relieved. Being alone with his thoughts had seemed like a good thing when he'd set out, but the curious stares were getting to him. He saw Zach snatch his hand back just before touching him and frowned. Here he was worrying about being stared at, when Zach had to be dealing with so much more. "Do you want to go find somewhere to talk?"

"Please?" Zach asked quietly, looking immediately grateful. He didn't want to bother people in the library, so he did exactly what came to mind first. "Computer, is there somewhere we could talk in private right now?"

"Meeting Room 3 is currently unoccupied."

"Where is it located?"

"Down this hall, on the left."

"Thanks," Zach said, pleased with himself, and he started in that direction.
