Bush's veto of the stem cell legislation REALLY pisses me off. What about the sanctity of the lives of humans already full formed, born, and living?!? Those with families and loved ones and terrible diseases that doom them to slow, painful deaths, when research on donated embryos that will otherwise never have a chance to become humans could save ( Read more... ) -

More law breaking in the White House. Gasp! RNC email accounts used by White House hacks to take over the world gone missing?!!! Sadly, these days I'm barely even surprised at this. Just more evidence of the extent of the evilness. -
Same-sex marriage safe in Massachusetts for many years to come!
Hooray! Opponents of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts suffered defeat, and many gay families will now be secure for the next few years. I hope after that, people will have continued to grow comfortable with the idea and the right will have crystalized to an extent that it will never be revoked.

So I got up at 6:15 a.m. today to get to work extremely early to have a 7:30 phone conversation with an expert witness who is going to be testifying via telephone in my pro bono asylum hearing on Monday. Talk about a Justice who is underwhelming.
Justice Thomas did not ask one question during oral argument for the entire Supreme Court term. Now that's just sad. Anyone with that much power owes Americans a little more engagement for pete's sake. Grr. -

A brilliant Al Gore editorial from the Guardian. I wish he'd say more of this stuff on our side of the pond too. Damn, I wish he had won the 2000 election. How different would our world and nation be now?!
Oh, wait. He did win the election. (sigh)
