I'm not sure I know what a subscription service is. Is this like paying a certain amount every month, and getting access to a pool of fiction? For some reason, though I'm glad to do that with Amazon Prime and Hulu, it doesn't feel like something I'd want to do with literature. At least currently, my approach seems to be to decide I very definitely want to read a specific novel or story-sometimes because I've read other works in that series or by that author, and sometimes because I've run across the title and the book just spoke to me. But if I want to read something casually, I'm more likely to pick up a book I've read before but haven't looked at in a long time.
The thing that does most to get me to read new electronic titles is Amazon's Look Inside feature. Does BVC have that option? If I sample a few pages, and the quality of the prose and the viewpoint of the characters feel right to me, I'm likely to go further.
