I've now been doing yoga two years at Underground Yoga in Huntington Beach, CA. I started not long after I suffered a stroke.

Doing some pose correction photos, I thought, what the hey, I'd put a couple up, before the painting I did of Lord Ganesh earlier this summer.

I have to say, I'm impressed on two counts:

I knew you're a largely visual thinker, but I hadn't realized that you did visual art. That's a really nice rendition of the Remover of Obstacles.

And it looks as if he's removing some of yours. Wow! A headstand!

It's really sad to hear that there are yoga nazis. I suppose every activity is susceptible to this, but as Gautama says, "Such things are not conducive to enlightenment."

Yeah, I was surprised to hear that there were those types in what I'd thought a totally mellow, easy-going practice. I didn't mind it in karate, as it was part of the mindset, kind of. But yoga?

Thanks! I've always drawn (I used to illustrate my own stories) but I didn't get into color until I started teaching drama, and discovered that I loved doing my own set design and painting. And other teachers tended to haul out and reuse my sets.

Isn't it fun? I feel so good when I'm done, even when I can't do the pose, it's getting there by increments that feels great.
