For those, like me, who need to save up a whole year for these things, Mythcon will be in Berkeley in 2012. Though Mythcons are always lovely, I have a special fondness for Berkeley ones. The site is terrific, and the program is always excellent.
Joyful Joyful! It won't conflict with Readercon, as it did this year. And I can find food in Berkeley! And see friends! It's going on the calendar. I shall propose a paper.
Oh that would be terrific! And yes--food shops within walking distance, if you don't want to trust their kitchens (though I will say that the food there has been extremely good, and there were always vegetarian choices)
You could--though calimac is usually in charge of programming, and is savvy about authors. However, Mythcons are not panel heavy so much as paper heavy, though both happen, including a lot of other cool stuff that are specific to Mythcons.
Actually, given your background and interests, I suspect that you would really enjoy Mythcon.

If there's any chance we can be there, we'll be there. It's not looking that likely atm but... *fingers crossed*

I've never been to a Mythcon before -- is this a "I should contact them about being on programming" scenario, or what?
