So it's been three months since i posted anything at all and much longer than that since I posted RL update as opposed to fandom stuff. GAH. At first I was super obsessed with Hannibal but then it turned into a stupid avoidance thing, to the point I've been planning to post something - anything - every day for weeks. AND YET ( Read more... )

So glad to hear this about the new Trek! The last film was just appalling - JJ Abrams just does not GET Trek and its values at all, but Simon Pegg does, I think. So maybe I will see this, though I probably won't see it at the cinema. (Kieran isn't a huge fan, and I foolishly got him to see the last film with me at the cinema - well! That has ruined any chance he'll watch another one with me! :D And these days the only time I go to the cinema is a date night with K when we manage to have babysitting.)

I've been wanting to see the new Ghostbusters movie since I saw the trailer airing on my TV, hopefully it's not the same trailer you mention, cause I actually liked it a lot XDDD. It'll be out in a few days here in Italy, so I'm really glad to hear it's such a great movie ♥♥♥

And you almost make want to see Star Trek, too... even though I'm not part of this fandom ;) (I know the basics, of course... so I wouldn't be totally in the dark about what I'm watching :D )

And apparently they don't make money from the actual tickets, but from the concession counter so they super expensive confectionery and drinks and of course you can't bring your own.

Cheap arse Tuesday is a thing where the tickets are only $14 or so, that's always super busy.

I only saw the first trailer and I read that it put other people off cos terrible but then they made better ones, so I'm sure it wasn't the same, the one I saw i just remember the fart joke.I hate toilet humour and vulgarity which is why I don't like a lot of Melissa McCarthy stuff (loved The Heat and Spy) but she's not crass at all in this film, yay!

Star Trek is basically an SF action film, i saw that Wil Wheaton (one of the ST:TNG actors who i like) didn't like it and doesn't consider it to be a real Star Trek film. *shrug* I felt it had the important Star Trek themes, so I was happy.
