Her taste is eclectic!

A few weeks ago a friend asked if Bunny would be a fangirl when she grows up. I assume so, we've certainly done our best to raise her properly and some of her fave shows have been Tower Prep, Eureka and Warehouse 13, and she's loved the first three eps of Agents of SHIELD. Her fave characters in those shows have been Suki, Zoe, Claudia and now ( Read more... )

My great-niece is 15 and is also something of a fan. I'm so proud! But every time I say something about it my sister (the fundamental Catholic) gets this look on her face like she's sucking on a lemon. *rolling eyes* Meanwhile, Abbie and I communicate on Tumblr and talk about shows she loves when she's here for holiday visits. She's also an artist.

Bunny sounds so wonderful. And I'm glad she assumes that the woman is in charge. Good on her! As you say, people my age (and even your age, you young-un, you) tend to think of the white male--or at least a male--as being in charge, or of being the focus of a show.

What on earth could she possibly object to in Foyle's War????

Ha, you only hear when Bunny's being awesome, not the horrible parts of being 12 and utterly believing she knows it all and that adults don't have the right to tell her what to do.

Hastings, you say? I might have to check this out for that alone :) Nice little town, that one.

...and of course that one time when they are actually showing here at all something I want to check out the show is on a break and won't resume until next year...

Occasionally :) Especially when there's a risk I'd have to get my hands on multiple seasons ^.^

Sounds like your raised her good, Sam is definitely in charge - the men just have a hard time coming to terms with her brand of awesome. ;)

I love Foyle's War, and even though the last season was good but not excellent I'm still holding out hope there will be more - more, more, more! heh - because I never want that show to end. Bunny is in good company, liking a show in which the lead characters actually respect the women in their company when most of their compatriots treat them more like pets who need a pat on the head (or behind) and to get back into the kitchen (see: The Bletchley Circle, also an awesome (mini)series, but maybe a bit too heavy for a 12-year-old, what with a serial killer raping the girls he killed). I just love all the characters in Foyle, but Foyle himself and Sam the most; they have the best dynamic and relationship ever. :)

I love Foyle's and Sam's relationship. I don't actually ship them but I've read all the fic on AO3 I just love how he's grown to care about her, despite himself, like in 'Bad Blood' when he kept coming to the hospital to watch over her.

I loved The Bletchley Circle! i was going to link to my rec post back in January, but then I realised it was just a photo of the cast and a I LOVE THIS SHOW type statement. Very glad it's got another season!

She has good taste! I love Foyle's War. I love the relationship between Sam and Foyle - he so clearly adores her in a delightfully understated way.

YES, yes he does! 'Bad Blood' is my fave ep for all the watching over her in hospital scenes.

Cool. I loved "Foyle's War". When it first started anyway - I haven't seen the last few series, for various reasons. Great cast, great period detail for the most part, and interesting cases. Honeysuckle Weeks and Michael Kitchen were really good (although I must admit that I found the other guy a bit dull in comparison). You have good taste, Bunny! And it's nice to enjoy a mixture of genres.

Have you tried her on "Poirot"? The David Suchet version is very good, although I admit I haven't enjoyed the more recent ones so much. No Captain Hastings. :(

Ooh, you haven't seen the later seasons? Did you see the one where Milne is a murder suspect? That was good. And then later Milne gets promoted and given more to do.

I haven't watched Poirot either :(

That doesn't ring a bell, no. There are a couple of channels in the UK that seem to show crime dramas on a loop, so it's bound to turn up on one of them sooner or later. I'll have to give some of the more recent ones a go.

There's some Poirot on YouTube, but judging by some of the comments, it's been blocked to a lot of overseas viewers. I don't know if it's the sort of thing there's likely to be torrents, etc, for, but it is worth searching out.
