LES MISERABLES was just stunning. The cast were fabulous, and Anne Hathaway’s performance especially just blew me away. Absolutely stunning. Disclaimer: except Russell Crowe, who has a lovely voice, but it’s just not powerful enough for the role. I may be biased, because still adore Roger Allam’s Javert, and of course Philip Quast was famous

Russell Crowe was the one I was concerned about. It's strange, though, how often PQ has been compared to him (at least in this country) so it makes good sense for him to play the part. I haven't seen the film yet, it doesn't open here for another couple of weeks.

If you haven't seen the 'Anniversary Concert' with the 17 Javerts then you totally should; it's absolutely excellent. (It includes a famous Valjean/Javert hug over the closing credits.) There's also a good 'Les Mis' segment in "Hey Mr Producer!" which I rec mainly because for a brief moment you get to see me and my two companions sitting in the audience!

I'll check out the new 'Lewis' stories and the 'Love, Actually' one immediately!

Admittedly there are a lot of drabbles and 'chapters' of fics being put up, but in amongst them there are some damn good stories. Also, the lewis challenge com are posting a couple of stories a day from the Secret Santa at the moment, and they're almost all well written. This fandom has attracted some really good writers esp in the last year or so. (or maybe I'm just paying more attention).

Yes, I am in a bit of a 'looking up all things Les Mis' place atm! though, since I don't know what you look like, that bit in Hey Mr Producer probably isn't going to be as exciting for me *G*
