HELLZ YEAH. I love that scene so much. Martin Sheen just acts the hell out of it and I can understand everything he's saying in Latin and I remember it was the first episode I ever saw of the West Wing when I was like eleven and I think I imprinted on Alison Janney but anyway President Bartlett = win. Loved it so much.
That scene gives me the shivers. It seems like I don't get into hardly any shows while they're actually still airing, so normally I don't mind watching reruns or on the Internet, but this episode is one I wish I had seen live. It would've been amaaazing. Especially if you were watching with a group.
Yeah, I agree. I watch most of my shows on the Internet regardless of when they air, but that would've been a damn good episode to watch when the show was still going.
Although-and I know it's not nearly as powerful-when Buffy and Angel are standing in front of their first tomb together and he says he's scared and Buffy responds with "I'm not" and kicks in the tomb's door? That's one of my all time favorite t.v. scenes. A kick-ass girl who is strong and unafraid? That was a perspective shifter for me. The swearing a God scene by Sheen is powerful in a dramatic context, but Geller's Buffy kicking in that tomb actually felt transformative to me on a v. personal level.
I'm not going to edit the above to correct the egregious errors (it's late), but I wanted you to know that I knew about them ('cause it's not late enough). *smooches*
