John needs to get his life straight.....you can't have your cake and eat it to.....you can't keep what you don't acknowledge to be real. It takes someone secure in the knowledge YOU love them and not that dirty little secret to be the one holding the family together. John's never given that to Rodney...He's treating Rodney more like the little woman, and not as an equal, and I can see how that would make Rodney suspicious, heart broken, and hard to trust a man that chose a (what I thought as)very possible suicide mission such as Atlantis over his family........If you go by canon, they knew it was a 99% chance of being a one way trip.

I hope John enjoys his promotion, for he again chose this over his family....even seeing how badly it was breaking the family he so claims to love. Seeing that his son didn't even know him, but knew enough that the uniform placed him as 'Sam's friend' and not a stranger. That broke my heart, for Cash, not for John.

Sad. Just sad. I also wonder what goes through John's head that leaving the planet, leaving Rodney and kids seemed like a workable option. Especially a one way trip.
And now he plans to return to Atlantis and then try to come back again in two years. John seems delusional and selfish. Yes he's saving the world. But give Rodney something or set his free.
