Our MDI Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend at Mt Desert Island. Driving up on Friday night in the rain was a bit of a long ride--5 hours--and apparently it must have been Bring Your Alpaca on a Roadtrip Day, because I saw no less than four vanfuls of alpacas on their way to somewhere. Somewhere entertaining for alpacas, I hope

I haven't been back to MDI since HC and I were first dating and went camping there. Man, it's so gorgeous. I'm jealous. Jealous of Dan's metabolism and athleticism, too; I wish I were a runner, but I am so not built for it.

Dude--I am so not built for running, either. And I simply can't run as fast as the twiggy girls, and I never will. I just slog along.

Isn't it? England is beautiful in the fall too, just with more mellow and muted colors. And mistyness. And, of course, mayhem.
