Title: Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane? - Alternative Ending.
Rating: General
Pairing: Sarah Jane/Andrea
Summary: short but sweet slashy ending to ‘Whatever Happened...?’
Author's Note: as a few people mentioned SJ/Andrea in
duckface666's
thread about femslash pairings, I thought I'd post this. I doubt that I'll ever get round to expanding it, so here goes.
"
I loved you, you know." Andrea's eyes filled with unshed tears.
"It's hard to believe when you willingly sacrificed my life to save your own." Sarah Jane would never forgive her friend for her betrayal, not only because it meant her death, but also because Andrea had knowingly ended their time together.
"I did though. I can't explain why i did that, but I'm truly sorry. I know I couldn't have lived with myself knowing what I'd done. I wish I could have remembered you all these years though."
"You can make it up to me by making a difference now. Come on Andrea, take back the deal and give me my life back." Sarah Jane didn't really want to see Andrea die all over again, but she had responsibilities here in the life she'd carved out for herself since the accident; responsibilities to the Earth and its inhabitants.
"You've turned into the most beautiful woman I've ever met Sarah Jane. Inside and out. I'm not even close to being a worthy replacement."
"Oh Andrea! I loved you too, more than I realised at the time. That day changed me for the rest of my life." Andrea stepped closer to the mirror. The Trickster appeared at her shoulder in the reflection and she spoke to him whilst looking at Sarah Jane on the other side of the mirror.
"I take back the deal." The two women reached out to each other and when they touched they fell into a passionate kiss. Andrea faded away and Sarah Jane was left to fall to the floor in a breathless heap. She checked that her cohorts were alright and then they had the task of explaining everything to Alan. No one mentioned the kiss for days.
Maria was curious and suddenly felt brave enough to say something. She was wise enough to bring it up whilst the boys were out.
"Sarah Jane, are you a lesbian? I mean, it doesn't matter to me if you are, it's just the way you kissed Andrea, well you wouldn't kiss a friend like that would you?"
"I think I did love Andrea back then. Whether it was a crush, or something more I don't know. Since then, well I think I'd rather that was something I kept to myself."
