On Monday I went to the nearby Lake Morris, one of Cairns' reservoirs, and then to the Crystal Cascades, a series of natural crocodile-free swimming holes and waterfalls. On Sunday I went to the Tanks Art Gallery, the nearby Barron Gorge National Park (Australia has 3200 National Parks... you're never too far from one!) and later, the village of Kuranda and Barron Falls. On Thursday, November 27th, we finally arrived in Cairns, 19 days and about 3000km since Sydney. What a ride! I had some amazing experiences on the way up and there was so much to see, but I was very relieved to be in Cairns because it meant I could rest for awhile after the fast pace we had held up the whole way.
