First exploratory day in Cairns

On Sunday I went to the Tanks Art Gallery, the nearby Barron Gorge National Park (Australia has 3200 National Parks... you're never too far from one!) and later, the village of Kuranda and Barron Falls. The Tanks is literally art inside of tanks... a very interesting space that is really art in itself. There is also a monthly bazaar here with

What, like waiting a bit for a train to come? hehe
Is there something more complex about Aussie trains I am missing? :P

I'm too lazy to type everything up about how I get to these places, but for your information, it's a half hour drive up a very steep, windy, narrow road (that people come flying DOWN and force you onto the side) to get to Kuranda and then a 10 minute hike down to where you can see the train... this is the only place so far that I know you can see it from, other than in Cairns itself, and I want the train coming through the rainforest, not with McDonalds in the background! Beyond Cairns, the tracks go way up through the remote rainforest... it's not like it's along a road I can follow. I have yet to explore the one other town it stops at to see if there's a good vantage point there. Ideally, I want a picture like this:
