So everything is uncertain as of now. Mother is worried that if the storm ends up not being too bad and we go to Huntsville that we won't make it home in time for her surgery on Monday (another thing to be worried about!). Oddly enough, that was exactly how I felt during Rita.... with the thoughts of losing possessions, wondering what I ought to take with me, etc. But this time, I'm not leaving until it's absolutely necessary. Our zip code hasn't even been listed on the mandatory evacuations, so all we may have to worry about is potential flooding/power outage :x It's still pretty much in the unknown on which direction Ike will really hit and the degree of severity. I dunno, your neighborhood seems pretty new with sturdy-looking homes. Maybe it won't get roughed up much, if at all. Don't worry about the worst-case scenarios while you're away. Hope you and your family will stay safe =)

You stayed home from school? Last time I checked UH said classes weren't canceled for Thursday which was really dumb.

lol, no I was at home at the time since my classes didn't start til 11:30. Out of two classes, my last prof canceled at the last minute. UH finally announced the closing of camus this morning... everything closing at 5pm and reopening on Monday.
