Hello Flist! Hope those of you who celebrated had a wonderful 4th of July! I realized today that summer is becoming surprisingly short. Last year I seemed to be really busy, then really bored, then really busy. This year has been busy and just flying by. Probably because I am anxious about returning to school in the fall. But C'est la vie. I have a ( Read more... )

Thank you thank you thank you! That is exactly what I am looking for! Yay!

*wavesback* I'm sorry I have been such a horrible friend lately when you have been so generous Maureen. No excuse for that. You are awesome and I can't wait to see you soon! :)

I loved Anthony Rapp's book and read it in one sitting during my February vacation. ITA with your view of it.

The summer is flying by too fast for me right now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the book as well, though I can't believe you read it in one sitting! :) I really applaud his openness and honesty. That could not have been easy but I'm sure it was cathartic.

I hope summer slows down a little for both of us Carolyn! *hugs*

Emma signed. It took her a bit longer than the boys, but she ultimately did sign. And yeah, you do need to reread HBP before DH comes out.

And JKR said that one of the chapters, near the end of the book, had her sobbing as she wrote it. And I have a lot to say about the end of the series, and I tried to say it here, but it came out all gobbleygook. :P

Oh good! I'm so glad that she signed, it would not have been the same without her. I haven't started HBP yet, but tomorrow for sure. I'm kind of sad to start reading it.

I read about her sobbing somewhere, that does not bode well. I'd love to hear your thoughts about the end of the series sometime, but I know for me it is hard to put into words.

My thoughts about the end of the series are constantly shifting and evolving. And this month being Harry Potter month, I can't really concentrate how I feel about it all ending into one ... anything. Post, discussion, conversation. Anything. There are just so many different aspects to it all.

I occasionally post about certain aspects of the series ending. Today, I posted my arguments why I don't think Harry will die (which I admit are highly biased).

For me as a reader, as a fan, I think that overall, I'm sad that the series is ending. It's the end of an era, much like Stephen King said in that post I linked to in my post. I know it has to end at some point, but these books have been an integral part of my life for the past decade. I've met some amazing people through these books, had some really great (and not-so-great) experiences, and learned a lot. I'm thankful for every moment.

For what it's worth, I don't think she'll kill Harry off, either. Nor do I think Ron or Hermione, though I can easily see it being close (as it was with Arthur in OotP, only moreso). I would not be at all surprised if Ginny or Neville dies. In fact, Matt and I were talking about that after seeing OotP, and we not only wouldn't be surprised to see it be Ginny, but would see her taking the yoke on eyes-open and willingly. And it won't be pretty, because she is important to Harry.

I guess we'll see in a week.

When do you go back to school, Jillage? We are still planning to camp next month, and want you to come with us if possible.
