Hello Flist! Hope those of you who celebrated had a wonderful 4th of July! I realized today that summer is becoming surprisingly short. Last year I seemed to be really busy, then really bored, then really busy. This year has been busy and just flying by. Probably because I am anxious about returning to school in the fall. But C'est la vie. I have a little more traveling in my future before it is over with a conference in Sacramento in a week-ish and then (hopefully) Stockbridge. Yay! Hope to see you fabulous people there!
I know a lot of you have been doing the 50BookChallenge and let me say bravo for that! As one of my new year's resolutions, well really the only one, I told myself that I would read 25 books this year. 50 seemed too many since I read a total of 4 books last year, and thus a friend and I made a pact to do just that. So far I have read:
1. The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. (my friend said I could count this, so I did).
2.
Jesus Land: A Memoir by Julia Scheeres. This book was rec'd on A Very Short List at the beginning of the year and I found it quite fascinating and sad.
3.
Without You: A Memoir about Love, Loss and the Musical Rent by Anthony Rapp. Very open, honest and heartbreaking. Shows the extreme highs and lows that he went through in that stage of his life and gave me some insight into the theater world which I am always grateful for.
4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. I had to re-read this since I remember almost nothing and wanted to be refreshed before the movie and The Deathly Hallows comes out.
Next up re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I hope I can finish it in two weeks as it seemed to take forever to read OOTP. I am very worried about Deathly Hallows. I think it will end very sadly and I don't know if I am ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. At least we have 2 more movies to look forward to. Speaking of I remember reading somewhere that Emma Watson did not sign to do the last two. Does anyone know if that's true?
A favor from the flist...Does anyone happen to have a picture of Randy from New York Magazine where he has a lot of eyeliner on (see 1st pic in icon)? I can't seem to find it anywhere! Thanks in advance for your help!
Well I think that is quite enough of my babbling for one night. I hope all of you are doing well, staying out of the heat, and having safe travels! *BIGHUGS*
