When this year started, I thought it was my year, that everything would start looking up, and that I would be heading to Africa to travel and work the continent a month from now. In the movies when someone get sick, all their friends show up, and everybody cares, and even though they're miserable, they know they're loved. That's all bullshit in case you were wondering. When you get sick what really happens is that all of your friends disappear, and you're left holding yourself above water, hoping you don't die alone.

So, a year ago I was just recovering from cancer. I finally paid off all my medical bills, and began saving and planning for a trip to Africa. Now my eye is hemorrhaging, my other eye is at risk, and I'm being tested for the scariest diseases to me personally. Really?

My life has gone something like this: Horror, Amish, horror, travel, horror, travel, horror, rennies, unschoolers, the road, horror, rennies, unschoolers, the road, horror, rennies,music, Portland unschooler family,the road and James, horror, rennies, more rennies, Portland awesome, horror, almost awesome, lonely and sad.

I miss James and Zaria...and sleep. But, as a general rule, I'm falling in love with my life again.
