This is probably the awesomest painting I've ever seen.

Oh, also, in case you haven't seen this Harryhausen compilation, it's worth looking at, in truth.

art all over you screen, moving pictures

That Harryhausen compilation is freaking awesome. I wish I could turn off comments in YouTube (can you?) so I didn't have to read the guy who was all "You should set this to music from the Matrix" and "Ray was like many English people from history, they set the pace, but needed funding to reach their potential..." Yeah, I-- huh?!

Seriously.
Additionally, I am really sickened by anyone who can bring up CG in the same sentence as Harryhausen, except for perhaps in the sample sentence 'CG kind of sucks compared to Harryhausen's work.'

I have a soft spot in my heart for those flying saucers smashing up Washington DC in "Earth Vs. the Flying Saucers". Granted, spinning flying saucers don't have the charm of an actual creature, but the miniature work was fantastic, and it gets bonus points just for the fleeting shot (not in this compilation) in which one of the saucers smashes through the big semicircular window at Union Station.
