A few things occur to me here. First, the space shuttle kicks SpaceShipOne's ass. Second, the basic mechanical design of the shuttle may be dated, but all the technology inside is state of the art. Third, space contractors are worth keeping fed. Fourth, NASA already prefers robotic missions for most of its science. Fifth, Bush wants to make space a safe place for raising clean american families, not the 10-second 50-mile high club for liberal movie producers.
1. SpaceShipOne was built for less than one percent of NASA's monthly budget.
> the basic mechanical design of the shuttle may be dated, but all the technology inside is state of the art
2. Even if that's true, that's like putting a laptop on a bicycle.
3. That's your opinion, so pay for it yourself.
5. So he's using capital raised at gunpoint to "invest" in "intangible benefits" that aren't believed in by enough people to raise the capital legitmately. Funny how so many people tout the "benefits" of the space program, yet it's supported by taxes, not those "believers."
> Bush wants to make space a safe place for raising clean american families
I want world peace, yetthat doesn't give me the right to force other people to fund my method of achieving it.
I do pay for it, and because I'm in majority, I get to force you to pay for it as well because if you don't go along it won't happen. So go on being a libertarian weenie all you like, and when you stop paying your taxes I get to watch your ass thrown in jail. (:
i saw you driving past evos the other day; i was inside eating my chicken strips next to the window and watching traffic. you were singing in your car and i thought it was amusing. this comment was a lot more interesting in my head.
