This has been one hell of a weekend...

It started off Friday afternoon when I found out that a friend had killed herself last August, and no one had been able/bothered to tell me. I later get a LJ comment from another friend, who didn't know her, nor does he even live in the same state, that he had read an article about her death, at which point ( Read more... )

So while randomly browsing myspace at work, I came across a profile of an old friend. She had a picture linked on her "About Me" info that said RIP Jessica. At first I wasn't sure if it was some morbid joke, or if she was really gone.

I read through her journal briefly, and found this entry:

It's been a bad year it seems.

First Mause in April, Spanky in May, then my Uncle in September, and now my last childhood "friend", a cat that I've had for 20 years.

For those of you who know me on a personal level, you know that my family has been going through some rough times over the past year.

These issues were brought on by my uncle who was fighting a battle with alcohol.

Some time today, he lost his battle.
