I adore this mirror universe you've created in these stories. I reread a bunch of the previous one to get back in the mood for this one, and loved it all over again. I love how McCoy is succeeding so well and doesn't even know it. Also, he's gotten himself in so way too deep.

Gah, love.

I love how often Pike seems to play matchmaker in the Mirrorverse, and he's at his wicked best here. Of course this Kirk and McCoy remain as thrilling and hot as ever -- the kissing is scorching hot, and I fucking love the idea that McCoy has trained himself to be Kirk's cockslut.

What a lovely early Christmas gift. Mirrorverse is just the thing to get me in the holiday spirit. Io Saturnalia!

I fucking love the idea that McCoy has trained himself to be Kirk's cockslut. *drools* I wonder how McCoy would react to that statement, hehehe - but so well put!

Mirrorverse is just the thing to get me in the holiday spirit. God, yeah, me too. I actually re-read your 'In the Morning' last night. That and 'The Hanged Man' are among my go-to-comfort fics! Lo indeed! ;D

I absolutely adore this series and the concept of a logical, Roman Empire--as you and I have discussed, as much as we love the TV MU with its over-the-top venality, it's hardly a model of a working system. Yours clearly is, with a rigid power structure and very powerful people willing to do anything to hold onto that power, which makes the idea of a Saturnalian reversal just genius.

McCoy’s learned from observing festive fall-out over the years that no one breaks the rules in the empire and gets away with it for long, not when you’re dealing with psychopaths with long-memories, single-minded ambition, and more sharks in the pool that there are fish to eat.

The idea of a holiday where letting down your guard in the wrong way can have permanent consequences really ratchets up the tension, which I felt so strongly throughout the story.

But why Kirk should pull strings after just one fuck, well, none of it adds up.

Oblivious Bones--my favorite!

No amount of polite words can obliterate the number Pike has killed to get where he is; ( ... )

Thanks so much for taking the time to give such detailed fb when you must have been busy with RL, bb!

Oblivious Bones--my favorite! Seriously, has he even looked in the mirror lately? ;D

Just when McCoy thought he was glimpsing what he wanted behind the obedient mask. This, I think, is what really fascinates me about this verse and why I'm into maybe writing more in the future. It's McCoy's seeing what he wants to see in Kirk. Is the vulnerability he sometimes spies 'a good man' under all the evil? Or is it McCoy being, as his gram would say, 'a sentimental old fool'? I tend towards the latter.

Damn, who am I kidding? I just like MU!snogging!

Thank you for reading, bb! MU at Christmas is just fab, isn't it? *evil cackle* I actually watched 'Mirror Mirror' with my family on Christmas Day and IT WASN'T MY IDEA! My daughter suggested it - there must be something in the Sangue blood.:D

AMAZING

i re-read the other two again, as i loved them, but what a brilliant culmination.

your MU is incredibly delicious, it's all about the mindfuck, rather than just the brute violence, which makes it all the more terrifying.

thanks for the excellent xmas pressie and i hope your cold goes away quickly!!

*hugs*

*bounces* Yay - re-reads make me happy!

it's all about the mindfuck I'm so glad that this works at all - it's even harder to write than sex, in the sense that I can't actually tell if it's working as I'm so close to the text, so I really appreciate you saying that!

Thanks for reading, bb - yeah, it was hard writing this when I was feeling pretty unwell, but I'm all better now, thank you! *hugs back*
